Afghanistan Set for Busy UAE Tour Against Bangladesh and Zimbabwe
 |
| Afghanistan vs Bangladesh vs Zimbabwe: Full UAE Tour Schedule 2026 |
Afghanistan are preparing for an action-packed international cricket schedule in the United Arab Emirates, where they will face Bangladesh and Zimbabwe across multiple formats in October and November 2026.
The programme includes a one-off Test against Bangladesh, an ODI tri-series featuring all three nations, a three-match T20I series against Zimbabwe and a two-match Test series against the same opponents. The schedule offers all three teams valuable opportunities to compete in international cricket across different formats.
Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Zimbabwe to Compete in ODI Tri-Series
One of the major attractions of the UAE tour will be the ODI tri-nation series, scheduled from 17 to 23 October. Bangladesh, Afghanistan and Zimbabwe will compete in a round-robin stage, with each team facing the other two once.
The tournament will begin with Bangladesh taking on Zimbabwe on 17 October. Afghanistan will then meet Zimbabwe on 19 October before facing Bangladesh in the final league match on 21 October.
The top two teams in the standings will qualify for the final on 23 October.
With three competitive sides involved, the tournament is expected to provide an important test of batting depth, bowling consistency and performance under pressure.
Bangladesh to Face Afghanistan in One-Off Test
Before the ODI competition, Afghanistan and Bangladesh are scheduled to contest a one-off Test from 9 to 13 October.
The match provides Bangladesh with an opportunity to test its red-ball performance in UAE conditions against an Afghanistan side known for its competitive cricket. It also adds an important longer-format assignment to the teams' international calendar.
For Afghanistan, the match is part of a wider programme designed to provide regular competitive opportunities across formats.
Afghanistan and Zimbabwe to Play T20I Series
Following the ODI tri-series, Afghanistan and Zimbabwe will turn their attention to T20I cricket.
The two teams are scheduled to play three T20 Internationals on 27 October, 29 October and 1 November. The series will give both sides an opportunity to assess their combinations and prepare for future international commitments in the shortest format.
Afghanistan will look to make the most of its familiarity with UAE conditions, while Zimbabwe will aim to deliver a strong performance across the three matches.
Two-Test Series to Conclude the Tour
The final stage of the programme will feature a two-match Test series between Afghanistan and Zimbabwe.
The first Test is scheduled for 5–9 November, followed by the second from 13–17 November. These matches will conclude the extended UAE programme and provide both teams with valuable experience in the longest format.
The inclusion of two Tests is particularly significant for Zimbabwe, which continues to seek more regular opportunities to compete in red-ball international cricket.

Zimbabwe Cricket Managing Director Givemore Makoni noted the importance of competing against strong international opponents and gaining more opportunities in Test cricket.
What to Expect from the UAE Tour
The extended schedule promises several weeks of international cricket, with the ODI tri-series providing a competitive contest among three nations and the subsequent Afghanistan-Zimbabwe fixtures offering further action in T20I and Test cricket.
For Bangladesh, the ODI tournament will be an opportunity to challenge two competitive opponents. Afghanistan will aim to use its home-hosted UAE programme effectively, while Zimbabwe will look to gain valuable experience across all three formats.
